Skivinnie: I know I might get roasted I don’t care. This artist is not just him it’s a team of artists, even though he’s the face of it. It’s his producers, his marketing team, and how he has globalized himself. That’s f****** Drake okay. Now I respect Drake only because of the businessman he is, and for the music he has put out. However, you have to understand it is not just him. If you look it up or just open genius and look at any of the sponsors like 18 writers and 10 producers on it. It’s a business team! Okay? It is. Then again, I can’t deny the man the work he has put out: “If you’re reading this it’s too late, Nothing was the same,” oh my god those are iconic albums. In fact, “If you’re reading this it’s too late,” might be one of the best. EP’s of like ever. Drake’s performance on it and production performance on there is just legendary. I think anyone who is a fan of Drake will agree with me. “If you’re reading this it’s too late,” or “Nothing was the same,” are hands down the best Drake albums.
Those are my six your turn.
Manav: So straight off the bat I’m gonna go with J Cole Eminem. Then Kendrick. After that I’m gonna go with Mac Miller. I’m sure everyone has their own kind of unique attachment to him but my attachment to him was with writing. The way he wrote his songs as a kid, talking about being a kid, no fronting or capping or anything. Just chilling and having fun with his friends. Being a kid. Making a song where he says I’m just a motherfu***** kid. Wait for his time to come. He’s doing his thing. Believe in him. Trust him. The kind of message he was sending out to just be yourself and be be comfortable with yourself even though he was not, was portrayed in the pain in his voice when he was singing the latter songs in his career.
He was really inspirational to me.
Skivinnie: Mac, oh he’s he’s incredible. He never took the the limelight you know. Unlike his time with Ariana Grande. Once they broke up and he put out that last one, it was one of the greatest, one of the most powerful albums ever. you Once I heard that I was just hooked again, mmm-hmm.
It’s unfortunate that it has happened a lot recently.
You tend to listen to the artists a lot more when they die, which sucks. It happened with me with pop smoke.
Manav: J. Cole, Eminem, Kanye, Jay Z, Mac Miller, Kendrick, Drake, Juice WRLD, (and now Jack Harlow too) are my top rappers of all time.
